Do you need to uninstall Hideaway on PC for any reason? If so, please follow the steps below.
The steps include Windows uninstalling Hideaway. Easy and simple! However, the next steps show you where to delete leftover Hideaway files that might be sitting in hidden places on your PC. That way, if you decide to download Hideaway again, it won’t conflict with the old files.
Step 1: Access the program list
- Click the magnifying glass icon on the taskbar.
- Type ‘uninstall‘ in the top search bar.
- Under the Add or remove programs menu, click Open.
Step 2: Uninstall Hideaway from the program list
- Type ‘hideaway‘ in the search bar to locate the Hideaway program.
- Click the three dots on the right side of the Hideaway program.
- Click Uninstall.
- Several windows may pop up, asking if you are sure you want Windows to uninstall. Keep clicking through to accept the uninstallation.
- A final window will pop up, saying Windows is uninstalling Hideaway. When the window disappears, it’s done with the uninstallation.
Even if Windows uninstalled Hideaway, there are still Hideaway files lingering in various places on your PC. To make sure Hideaway is fully erased from your PC, continue the steps below:
Step 3: Delete files from your C drive
- Open File Explorer on your PC.
- In the above search bar, copy, paste, and enter this file address: C:\Program Files.
- If you can’t use the file address search above, follow these steps:
- Open the Local Disk (C:).
- Open the Program Files folder.
- Right-click on the Hideaway folder.
- Click the trash can icon to delete the folder.
Step 4: Delete cache
- Open File Explorer on your PC.
- In the above search bar, copy, paste, and enter this file address: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow.
- Replace [username] with your Windows username. For example, the file address on my PC is: C:\Users\meggi\AppData\LocalLow with the meggi username.
- Right-click on the Digital Daylight folder.
- Click the trash can icon to delete the folder.
Step 5: Delete shortcut
- Open File Explorer on your PC.
- In the above search bar, copy, paste, and enter this file address: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
- Right-click on the Hideaway folder.
- Click the trash can icon to delete the folder.
Step 6: Delete ZIP setup folder
- Open File Explorer on your PC.
- In the top-right search bar, type ‘hideaway‘ to find the ZIP folder.
- Right-click on the hideaway folder.
- Click the trash can icon to delete the folder.
Once you have completed all these steps, Hideaway is fully uninstalled from your PC. Also, any lingering Hideaway files have been deleted.
