Robot Face

Robots are the future. Design your own robot in just a few minutes!

You will need:

  • Snack box
  • Crayons, colored pencils, markers

Instructions:

  1. Pull apart the box without tearing the cardboard.
  2. Lay down the cardboard flat with the blank side facing you.
  3. In the middle square, color in a face.
  4. In the other squares, color in the head, antennas, and shoulders.
  5. For extra effect, fold back the cardboard flaps. This will prop up the robot to give it a 3D effect!

Rainbow in a Pencil Holder

Need colorful inspiration while at your desk? Insert a rainbow inside your pencil cup!

You will need:

  • White paper
  • Yarn with rainbow colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet)
  • Drinking straw
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape

Instructions:

  1. Draw a cloud on white paper. Cut it out.
  2. Trace the cloud’s shape on more white paper. Cut out this second cloud.
  3. Cut out each color’s yarn. Each should be 4 inches long.
  4. Glue the ends of each string to one cloud.
  5. Glue the straw’s end over the pasted string.
  6. Glue the second cloud over the first cloud.
  7. If using glue (not tape), put a heavy book over the cloud. This will let the glue stick for a few minutes.
  8. Place the other straw end into your pencil cup.

Buttoned Sunglasses

Buttons aren’t just for shirts. They’re also for sunglasses! Button up and look sharp with your own unique sunglasses.

You will need:

  • Small colorful buttons
  • Hot glue gun
  • Sunglasses with wide rims

Instructions:

  1. Plan the button layout on a table.
  2. Add a tiny dab of hot glue onto the glasses rim.
  3. Place a button onto the glue. Hold for a few seconds.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to cover the rim. You could do a whole or half-frame with the buttons.
